Liquid Terrain

Photographs of fluid landscapes where the surface of water reflects and refracts ambient light, sky, rock, trees, foliage, and sculpture, in response to wind, gravity, and current.

Written & Photographed by Tim Wolf

Liquid Terrain is a way that I describe my work, both visual and musical. The idea of fluid landscapes encompasses this group of photographs where the surface of water reflects and refracts ambient light, sky, rock, trees, foliage, and sculpture, in response to wind, gravity, and current.

These photographs capture mere fractions of a second of that fluid and dynamic process. They document a fleeting moment from the perspective of a single witness, an intimate impression of something thoroughly impermanent—topographic maps of imaginary terrain.
